Traditionally, the wine cultivation has been always part of the people of these lands; in fact, many of the customs, festivities and literature are based on the wine culture. We should not forget the references made by the greatest writers from the Golden Century about the Manchego wine. Miguel de Cervantes, in his universal Don Quijote, makes reference to the wine as follows: “he praises so much about the wine that he talks really highly about it although he would not want to leave it up there for too long”.

La Mancha represents the largest wine area of the World. Cinco Casas has achieved to merge tradition, history and modernity, as shows the winery in which nowadays coexists old wooden vessels along with the latest technological advances in winemaking. From its foundation, the winery represents the tenacity and know-how of the Manchego winemakers, as well as the eagerness for elaborating the best wines within a booming Denomination of Origin.

The restructuring plans of the vineyards made throughout the last decades in the new Denomination of Origin La Mancha have made the introduction of new varieties possible which have become perfectly acclimatized to this production area. This fact has favoured the elaboration of any variety, not only whites (Macabeo, Verdejo, Airen) but also Reds (Tempranillo, Syrah, Merlot , Cabernet, etc.).
